Equine Photographer Of The Year 2022

Hi I am Mandy and I am a specialist Equine Photographer. Horses are such beautiful kind souls with heaps of personality. If you are a horse lover like myself then you will be in agreement that you can never have too many photo’s of your beautiful best friend. Capturing their stunning good looks and unique personalities is what I do best. If you would like an extra special photo of your horse, you are definitely in the right place.

My style of photography is cinematic and dramatic. I work in some of the UK’s most beautiful locations to create stunning pieces of art that would look stunning in any home.

Every equine photography experience is different and designed to celebrate your horses individual personality, breed while taking into account what your horse might be capable of on the day. Each edit is carefully planned to compliment your horses colouring and surroundings so that you will come away with a bespoke piece of artwork to treasure.

EXPERT POST PRODUCTION

Expect the unexpected

With over 20 years experience using Photoshop the options for your photo shoot are endless. I often get asked for a touch of magic in my dog portraits, maybe a glowing butterfly or a firefly. For those landscape lovers I can combine a dramatic long exposure of your favourite location with your pets portrait. Do you have lots of dogs that won’t all look at the camera together? Or is one sneezing or blinking? No problem. I can swap heads, ears, eyes, composite individual portraits & swap backgrounds for that perfect group shot. Want something totally different? I can do that too. Turning horses into water, swapping the background from a beach to a church, dogs sleeping on fluffy clouds in the sky, our imagination is the only limit.

We had such an amazing experience with Mandy. We were recommended her by a friend and certainly were not disappointed. We were truthfully a little nervous about the shoot as our husky was only 9 months old and we worried she would not be able to get any usable photographs. Sooty

What a brilliant experience with this very talented lady! Mandy immediately put me at my ease as she is friendly, relaxed and totally non-demanding. I have to admit to being a little anxious that I might be wasting her time since Sooty is normally pretty camera shy, preferring to look away from any camera pointed at him. However, I needn’t have worried, since she is quick to catch the right pose in the right moment and the right light - and the results are stunning! If you want a ‘wow’ photograph of your dog, then I absolutely recommend The Darkroom! Thank you so much Mandy!

Mickey & Tikka

I was lucky enough to go out on a shoot with my 2 dogs at Burrator. Mandy had such an amazing rapport with both my dogs, but there was also an instant connection with her and my collie - i would say that they had met before! She was such an easy person to talk to, it felt just like a walk with a friend. And then there are the images - Oh my days!! They are magical!! She has really captured their personalities and produced such stunning works of art. I cannot stop looking at the pictures and smiling!!

Red & Blue on the Farm

We had a blast with our recent photo shoot! Mandy is lovely and quickly made our dogs feel at ease. She wasn’t bothered having two over enthusiastic Rottweilers bounding at her when she arrived either, which was a plus! I was amazed how well the boys and Itchy posed for her!
