This image of Mandel was taken on the edge of the Norwegian wilderness, where the light breaks through just enough to catch her in perfect stillness.

It’s one of those moments that wasn’t luck — it was instinct. I set the pose to help another photographer find inspiration, but what we ended up with was something quietly powerful.

Guiding Light is a reminder that even in dark, wild places, there’s always something — or someone — leading the way.
