Hello everyone I hope you are all doing well and that the winter blues haven’t set in too badly?

I’ve had a totally crazy start the year here at The Darkroom Photography. To start off, on the 22nd of January I was announced as The International Illustrative Photographer Of The Year. A little bit of a mind bender to be honest. I reached 5K on instagram and did a little give away (I’m at nearly 8K now). I am looking forward to meeting the competition winner next week for a shoot at beautiful Meldon Reservoir on Dartmoor. I am off to the Netherlands next month for a portfolio building course with a very talented Dutch lady. Our focus will solely be on equine photography so be prepared to be bombarded with beautiful horse pictures. I am really excited.

As I mentioned on Facebook at the start of the year, I really want to make sure I get to catch up with each and every of my lovely customers in 2022 for little natter, a cuddle with your lovely pets and a chance to explore somewhere new. I will of course have my camera with me in case the perfect photo opportunity arises. I will be doing one of these walks each month and you can apply to join me here. The rules are, you must be an existing customer, we must a visit a new location and you must bring your four legged friend.

The first of this years Mini Shoots have been announced, I am just finalising the dates now. The first three on the list are Bluebells, Woodland and Reservoir, you can find out more here. Coming next will be Beach, Waterfalls & Lavender Fields I think? Which brings me to a question for you. If I were to do shoots further afield is that something any of you would like to do. These would be in areas of outstanding natural beauty. For example, I am probably going to be heading to the Breacon Beacons next week to shoot at the Four Waterfalls. If any of you think you might be interested in a road trip and a photography experience never to forget please let me know in the comments.

Please keep me posted on how you are all doing and if you can, share some recent photo’s of your dogs or horses on my Facebook so I can see how your lovely pets are getting along. I hope to hear from you all soon and if you have any suggestions as to what you want to see from me this year, whether it’s conceptual shoots (dogs with lanterns, or flowers), more dogs in landscapes, different products, or offers please do let me know.

Love to you all and huge cuddles to your furry besties,

Love Mandy xxx
